It's not all traditional towers, though: there is a modern city centre with a regular downtown vibe that gives visitors to Yueyang a two-sided experience and a balanced travelling itinerary. Streetside restaurants are as smalltown Hunanese as they come, but energetic nightclubs are not far away either, and it's all within walking distance along the lakeside.
